Amici

Amici is now open at SM Megamall’s newest wing - The Atrium.

From the moment that I first tasted the goodness of Amici's Cannelloni Agli Spinaci back when I was still taking my summer internship in college (this was just a few years back, though) - I already knew that it was love at first bite! :-)

Cannelloni Agli Spinaci

Fresh spinach stuffed in alternating flat lasagna layers topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese – absolutely a satisfying treat for the palate! Best paired with their panini - fresh seasoned ground meat pan-grilled with their very own white bread.

Le Polpette con Parmigiano

Love their gelato, too! For just P50 a cup, it's the cheapest quality gelato you can ever find in the Metro.

Ristorante Bigoli

Casual Italian dining is becoming more of a trend these days as proven by the presence of many fast-foods/restaurants in the Metro – Chef d’ Angelo, Don Henrico’s, and Sbarro to name a few. Ristorante Bigoli, a fairly new casual Italian restaurant joins the fuss as it opened early this year in Trinoma.

Bacon Stromboli

Crispy bacon strips wrap and rolled in white bread. I am guessing that these are fried and not baked; I could see the oil left on the plate after munching a few of these. Good only if fried with olive oil but just too bad if fried with ordinary cooking oil. Nothing really special about this starter… Too salty and oily, maybe?

Spaghetti Al Pesto + Pepperoni Pizza

Pepperoni Pizza was, again, oily like the Bacon Stromboli. It wasn’t served hot… Maybe that was the reason why I find Bigoli’s pizza not fresh – already soggy and greasy. Spaghetti Al Pesto was served with Bigoli’s breadsticks. I know for a fact the Bigoli takes pride of their breadsticks: warm, buttery and really really smells delicious… plus, it’s refillable! You can have as much of these as you want. Just make sure you won’t stuff yourself with this so that you can still enjoy the rest of your meal.

Italian Chicken + Spaghetti Marinara

Italian Chicken was so-so, nothing too Italian about it. It tasted more of a glazed barbeque chicken for me, or something close to the honey barbeque chicken that McDonald’s once had. Spaghetti Marinara was good; you can distinctly taste the freshness of the tomatoes in every bite! A recommended dish for red-sauce-pasta-lovers!

Cyma

When you want comfort Greek food, Cyma is the place to go!! You can never go wrong with anything that you order at Cyma – truly a place that serves authentic Greek dishes at its best.

Spinach & Artichoke Fondue
Spinach and artichoke baked with cheeses and spices, a must-try starter. What I like about Cyma’s Spinach and Artichoke fondue is that the mixture of cheese and veggies is just right and is not overly stuffed with veggies. The amount of cheese is also just right, I like the saucy cheesy taste – not desiccated but still flavorful.

Souvlakia Souvlaki

Cyma’s chicken kebab. Having good pita bread with your kebab definitely makes a lot of difference. Of course, pita bread served together with kebab is like the icing over a cake, the ribbon on a gift, and the candle drizzles on an ice cream. While other Greek restaurants forget about the pita, Cyma takes pride of their pita bread – making sure it’s served warm and healthy each and every time. Chicken is tender and not dry, grilled with just the right amount of spices that is distinctly CYMA. Flavor that accents the taste of chicken meat but does not overwhelm it. Servings are also huge! Good for sharing.

Skolatina

Cyma’s version of molten chocolate cake. This is one of the best molten chocolate cakes that I’ve tasted. The cake is spongy, moist and soft on the outside, and the inside is just filled with oozing goodness of melted quality chocolates. Served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, this one is really a treat for the sweet tooth!
